FAQs

What is the Daring Faith Campaign?
A faith based fund raising initiative to raise money to pay for our first church building. We are asking everyone at Life Pointe to give an initial cash offering and make a 36-month pledge above what you currently give in your tithes and offerings to Life Pointe. You may also give a gift of assets such as real estate, stocks, bonds, coins, cars, boats, etc. to take advantage of tax benefits.

What will we do with the Daring Faith Offering and Commitments?
All of the money will go to our building project which will consist of an 11,928 sq. ft. building at 7006 Knights Court directly across the street from Elkins High School. The Project includes:
• Multipurpose worship center for 200 adults
• Designated spaces for preschool, elementary, and students
• Lobby space for connecting
• Adequate parking.

Why now?
We are in temporary facilities with limited access and could lose our contract at any time with short notice.  In addition, we have a partner church that plans to match our campaign funds up to $700,000.

When will we build?
Our target is to move in by Christmas, 2017. To meet this date, three things have to happen:
1. Raise $700,000, through initial cash offerings and pledges by May 1, 2016,
2. Complete the building project construction documents and permitting by December, 2016,
3. Begin construction by January, 2017, complete construction December, 2017
We will keep raising money until God provides it all.

How much will it cost?
The total cost of construction is estimated to be $2,400,000.

Where will the money come from?
• $700,000 Daring Faith Campaign
• $700,000 Matching Funds
• $1,000,000 loan
God has already begun to move. One family has already committed $100,000 over the next 36 months.

How can I get involved in the Daring Faith campaign?
1. Attend. Make sure you are here for the entire Daring Faith campaign.
2. Pray. Ask God to lead you to give the largest gift of your life and to make the largest financial commitment of your life. Ask God to lead you to have Daring Faith. Ask God to show you what Daring Faith looks like to you in your life.
3. Commit. On May 1 bring an offering and make a three-year commitment to Daring Faith above and beyond your regular tithes and offerings.

How do I determine my part?
In your prayer time, take time to pray through these three questions:
1. What could I give to the Daring Faith campaign?
2. What could I sacrifice and then give to the Daring Faith campaign?
3. What could I believe God to give to the Daring Faith campaign?

How much debt will we have?
We will have approximately $1,000,000 in debt. We will no longer be paying for someone else’s building through our monthly rental fee. That fee will then be used to help pay the loan note.

Will my commitment be confidential?
Yes! Any gifts you give to our church are always confidential.  The gift is a pledge and not a binding contract. If you experience financial hardship such as a job loss, you can change your commitment. It is a commitment between you, God and the church.

What if I have questions or need to talk to someone before our commitment day?
From April 10 through April 24 we will have a number of smaller gatherings where you will have the opportunity to meet with Pastor Alan and ask any questions you have. If you have additional questions, we will connect you with one of our campaign members.

Does Life Pointe Church own land?  What land is for sale?
Life Pointe Church owns 12 acres of land directly across the street from Elkins High School ( Image: Church Site above).  We plan to build our permanent home on that land.  The land is completely paid for and in our name.  Next to our land is 28 acres that is owned by Community of Faith Church that is for sale.  A buyer has received permission to build a sports complex on that land by both the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Missouri City Council.  The buyer plans to go to closing on the land before the end of April. Once the sale is completed, Community of Faith Church plans to use the money from the sale of the 28 acres to match our giving up to $700,000 to help Life Pointe Church get into a permanent home.  Pastor Alan is a former staff member of Community of Faith and they want to help us get our first building.  They are helping us because of the relationship Pastor Alan has with Community of Faith.  Life Pointe Church is not merging with Community of Faith – one church is helping another church.

What is a Daring Faith gathering?
We are in the midst of such an exciting time in the life of our church as we prepare to build our permanent home! We want to personally invite you to join Pastor Alan and some other members of the church family for a “Daring Faith Gathering” of your choice so that you can learn more about what all the excitement is about!  You will get information that you can not find out anywhere else, be able to ask Pastor Alan any questions you may have and you will have fun too.

We will have five (5) separate gatherings. Please indicate your first and second choices of these gatherings that you are able to attend. The meeting locations have a maximum number of people that we can accommodate, so please reply back with your first and second choice dates that you would like to attend, and if applicable whether you need childcare and the number of children that childcare is needed for.

Please indicate your first and second choices by filling in the blank with #1 or #2:
